TOP POSTER 1.1 for TAG BBS's
============================
Note to all: TOP POSTER is free to all but you accept the fact that
it is not guaranteed to do anything whatsoever.
What it is:
===========
TOPPOSTR will check to see who your best poster was in the last 7 days.
As a sysop, you could give them recognition, better time, no ul/dl
ratio, a zillion pesos (33 cents) or anything your little heart desires
because they've been an asset to your board.
You, the sysop, are notified every 7 days as to who posted the most by
having TAG's userX.msg function contact you. For example, if you are user #1
then leave line 2 as (path)\user1.msg
If you wanted to create 6an output immediately, TOPPOSTR accept a command
line parameter. By executing 'TOPPOSTR INIT' (no quotes of course) then
the program knows you want an output immediately. This can be run with the
init parameter once a week or without any parameters daily. Without the
'INIT' parameter, TOPPOSTR knows to count by one day. When it reaches 7 days,
you get the user message.
To have it automatically run, make it part of your daily event.
5 files are included in this package:
toppostr.doc - this rag
toppostr.cfg - sample config file
toppostr.day - only temporary until I find a better way
toppostr.old - holds last week's top poster's name
toppostr.exe - executable file
The config file consists of:
LINE1 - Full path & filename of the sysop log for yesterday (sysop1.log)
LINE2 - Full path & filename for the message created to notify sysop
as to who was the best poster in the last week
LINE3-53 50 lines of user names that won't be included in the compilation
of users who posted. Obviously we wouldn't want to give the
sysop an attaboy for posting a lot. You can use all 50 lines
or none. Names on the lines are case insensitive.
